Weaverville Church of the NazareneNow back to 1 service! With changing economy, changes in the community, changes within the church, and general sense of division, it was recently decided to go back to one service. We are one body in Christ. Amen to that! And it is important that we see eye to eye with one another and have unity in relationships with each other and Christ, even if we disagree with each other. So now it is time to get back together, work together, and be God's servant to build His kingdom! Service times as noted on the right column of the website. Second Service Info Recently we changed our Sunday Mornings to include a second service. Both services have the goal of providing an environment of Worship of our Lord and Savior. Early Service Later Service Multiple Sunday Service InformationWe
received 34 surveys back, representing 79 people. 60% said that they would most likely attend the 10:45
service, 40% for the 8:30 service. 10
new volunteers were identified. QUESTIONS
and ANSWERS: Q.
Why do we need to have two services? A.
Parking! We have 63 parking spaces.
Our parking capacity
is maxed out with an attendance of approximately 150.
While we have 222 seats in the sanctuary, it is best to stay
below the 80% rule, which would be 177.
March 05 we
averaged 167, October 05 averaged 166, December 05
averaged 170. We need to make room for continued growth. Q.
What will be done to make sure we keep on time, and not
cut into Sunday School time? A.
Pastors John and Ray have worked out worship times to fit
the time allotted. Early
service will usually be limited to 4-5
songs. All the
“extras”, i.e. special announcements, dramas,
etc. will be limited and must be approved ahead of time. Q.
How will we find the needed additional volunteers? A.
God doesn’t ask us to step out on faith unless He has
already paved the way. We
believe that God has put it on
some of your hearts to help make this happen.
Our
faithfulness opens the door for His plans to be fulfilled. Q.
Will there be childcare? A.
Yes. However, to be
with there will only be Nursery (ages 2 and
under) available during the 8:30 service.
This will change as we have
need, and as new volunteers come forward. The
10:45 service will
continue to have Nursery, Toddler Church, and PromisedLand. Q.
What will be done to facilitate the unity of the church body? A.
First, the two services will remain very similar.
Same announcements,
same message, same music, though there will be 1 or 2 fewer songs
in
the early service. We
will have a renewed emphasis on meeting
together during S.S. classes and Home Groups.
We will probably have
a quarterly “brunch”, or similar time together. Please pray that
the Lord would continue to lead and that we would be willing followers.
Please talk with pastors John or Ray for more.
